According to the Prince George’s County Police Department, officers responded at approximately 3:30 p.m. on Monday, July 6, 2026, to the 11900 block of Croom Road after receiving reports of a serious two-vehicle crash.
When emergency responders arrived, they found two vehicles that had sustained extensive damage in what investigators believe was a head-on collision. Despite lifesaving efforts, Hawkins suffered fatal injuries and was pronounced dead at the scene. Authorities later identified him as a resident of Brandywine, Maryland.
The driver of the second vehicle was transported to a nearby hospital with severe but non-life-threatening injuries. Police have not released that individual’s identity.
